In Melbourne, Australia, Paul Conyngham learned that his beloved dog Rosie had cancer. Not a professional researcher, he picked up a laptop and the open science of the field and set out to build an mRNA vaccine for Rosie alone: reading the tumour's genome, choosing the targets her immune system could recognise, wrapping the mRNA in lipid nanoparticles, and delivering it himself. He walked the whole road to the end. His devotion and love moved me deeply.
Meanwhile, our association has been providing STEM learning content to young people in Tanzania, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. What we heard from the field was a different story. The mRNA vaccine was widely seen as "dangerous and suspect", and that fear could stand in the way of vaccinations people genuinely need.
Fear grows where understanding is missing. Instead of persuading, I decided to help them understand it for themselves.

So I set out to make content that lets a young person follow, with their own hands and eyes, what mRNA is, what it does once inside the body, and why it disappears within days. The three works introduced on this page are the result of that effort.
